Reidsville City Government

The City of Reidsville operates under a Council-Manager form of government. The City Council directs the policy for the City while the City Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of City Government. The City Manager reports directly to the City Council and is responsible for all City Departments. 

The City Manager is aided by two Assistant Managers. The Assistant City Manager of Administration/Finance Director oversees Finance, Human Resources and Information Technology. The Assistant City Manager of Community Services oversees Community Development, Parks & Recreation (Lake Hunt, Lake Reidsville, Senior Center, Teen Center) and Economic Development (Penn House, Market Square, Main Street Program, the Reidsville Downtown Corporation and Marketing). The Marketing Department operates out of The Penn House located at 324 Maple Street. The Main Street Coordinator handles rental of downtown's Market Square.

Other Departments include the City Clerk's Office, Fire, Police and Public Works. 
Reidsville City offices are located throughout the City.

Reidsville City Hall, located at 230 W. Morehead Street, houses Administration, Community Development, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology and the Main Street Program. The Police Department is located next door at 220 W. Morehead Street.

The main offices of Parks & Recreation are at 200 Franklin Street, which includes the Fitness Center in the basement of the building. The Reidsville Center for Active Retirement Enterprises (RCARE) is located on Washington Avenue. Parks & Rec also oversees Lake Reidsville and Lake Hunt.

The Reidsville Fire Department has three stations with headquarters on South Scales Street and stations on Reid School Road and Barnes Street.

The Public Works Department, 1100 Vance Street, includes the main offices and garage area. Nearby is the Recycling Center on 709 Marcellus Street. Other facilities include the Water Treatment Plant at 278 Reid Lake Road and the Wastewater Treatment Plant at 407 Broad Street.
