Preparing for Possible Snow
With possible snow or a wintry mix in the forecast starting Friday night, Jan. 6, City crews are busy preparing the brine spreaders and salt trucks to hit the streets as soon as a clearer picture of the forecast is available. City Public Services workers plan to put brine down on Friday on most of the City streets and all municipal parking lots. If it snows, they will run the salt routes as soon as it starts accumulating. After it stops snowing and if it is over 2 inches deep on the streets, City crews will begin scraping the streets and clear the downtown area. Residents are urged to keep their vehicles off the roadways to allow the City trucks to travel down the streets.
