The Reidsville Parks & Recreation Department, headed by Director Harry Brown, offers a wide array of athletics and programs for the citizens of Reidsville, as well as visitors to the city and its recreational facilities. The Rec Department includes a gymnasium, which is open for use from 5-7 p.m. weekdays and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.
Athletic Programs
The athletic offerings provided to the public include the following: Flag Football, Contact Football, Youth Basketball, Pony League Baseball, Coach Pitch, T-Ball and Girls Softball. Most of the sports programs can be accessed online. Cheerleading is also available.
Ball Fields & Neighborhood Parks
A network of neighborhood parks can be found throughout the City featuring playground equipment. Several of the parks also include ball fields, horseshoe pits, basketball, volleyball or tennis courts.

Lakes
Reidsville also has a premier recreation facility in Lake Reidsville, located at 630 Waterworks Road. The lake includes camping, fishing, boating and picnicking facilities. Other amenities include an amphitheater, a playground area, camp store, a softball practice field and a regulation-sized soccer field. An airstrip for the flying of model airplanes is located across the road from Lake Reidsville's entrance.

Reidsville Senior Center
Reidsville has a strong senior citizens' program, evidenced by its Senior Citizen Center located at 201 N. Washington Avenue. The Center provides seniors with a meeting place as well as a site for informational seminars. The Council on Aging has a Nutrition Site at the Center as well. A variety of classes and trips are also made available to those participating at the Center.
Fitness Center
The Fitness Center, located on the lower level of 200 N. Franklin Street, includes free weights, treadmills, elliptical machines and more. Hours are 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Reidsville Community Pool
The Reidsville Community Pool, located at the Reidsville YMCA, 504 S. Main Street, is a joint venture of the City and the YMCA. Open swim times are available, along with several aquatic classes offered through the Y. For more information, go to the YMCA website at www.ymcareidsville.org.
Walking Trails
The first of Reidsville's proposed greenways, the Jaycee Park Trail, is a 1.1-mile path connecting Reidsville Middle School and Reidsville High School on South Park Drive with the Jaycee Park recreation area. The Jaycee Trail Extension, which was officially opened in May of 2007, connects the Jaycee Ball Park recreation area to the lower Jaycee Park on South Scales Street. Reidsville Teen Center
In 2004, the City of Reidsville opened a Teen Center for local youth in grades 5th through 9th (ages 11-15). Homework assistance, special programs and recreational opportunities are available at the Center located at 221 Piedmont Street. Membership is free, but enrollment is required. Membership growth has been so great since the Teen Center opened in 2004 that the Reidsville City Council has purchased a building on Sprinkle Street, which has been rehabbed for an expanded facility. The new Center held its grand opening on November 26, 2007.
Other Recreational Opportunities
