La Boutique celebrating 10 years in business in Downtown Reidsville

Anyone who has visited Downtown Reidsville can’t miss this staple business celebrating it’s 10 years in downtown. La Boutique located at 209 S. Scales Street has a bright blackLaBoutique2021 and pink awning and always has beautifully decorated windows while specializing in women’s fashion and accessories.

La Boutique owner Theresa Moore purchased the building back in 1998, and rented the property. In 2011 after a tenant left the building, Theresa decided to open her ladies fashion and accessory boutique. After a couple of months of renovating, Theresa opened her boutique on May 6th 2011. One of the challenges she faced was learning the retail business and what would sell in the store. Her boutique has expanded over the years to include clothing and footwear . When asked why she thinks La Boutique has stayed open for 10 years Theresa said, “Her love of the business, marketing and customer service”. Also, “Greeting your customers when they walk in the door and having curb appeal.” Theresa added she has a loyal customer base and that keeps her going.   She loves being located downtown because the other business owners are like one big family. Theresa has been the chairperson of the Downtown Merchants Association and has spearheaded many ideas for events and promotions with other downtown businesses. She has been a member of the Reidsville Downtown Corporation, The Woman’s Club. Theresa loves to support local causes and hosts Girl’s Night Out every October which raises funds for breast cancer. She gives back to the community by donating to Freedom House and the Backpack program.

Owner Theresa Moore grew up in Greensboro before meeting her husband here in Reidsville 41 years ago. Prior to being in retail, Theresa spent 25 years working with children from teacher to preschool director. Also, spent 27 years as a military wife. Theresa and her husband have made their home in Reidsville, since 2006 when her husband retired from the USAF.
